Amazon is seeking to disrupt the traditional healthcare supply chain by selling everything from bandages to hip replacements to syringes. They plan to expand their B2B marketplace to allow hospitals and clinics to shop for supplies they need to stock various departments and locations. It would extend the advantages of their consumer site to hospital systems, including lower costs, simplified purchasing, and getting rid of middle men.

Love them or hate them, it appears that the majority of the healthcare market is quite supportive of Amazon as a medical supplier.

A few respondents however, were a bit on the skeptical side, “Amazon delivery needs to be 100% accurate in order to switch over, but I still see missing deliveries too many times with regular deliveries.”

When asked about what areas Amazon should focus on most, overwhelmingly respondents felt the items they should distribute most are general commodities at 49%.
