The year is coming to a close and hospitals have 2015 on the mind. Big decisions about where to spend their money are coming so we set out to find what medical imaging technology decision-makers are looking to acquire next year. More importantly though, what companies are they looking at purchasing those systems from? This study will help vendors focus their strategies and resources on the right areas for the coming year.

Reaction, a pioneer of SmartData, used its proprietary ecosystem (called Reaction) to gather responses from 370 healthcare provider directors of radiology, directors of imaging, CIO’s, IT directors, and other top decision-makers from U.S.-based healthcare organizations over a recent 14 business day period. Responses flooded in discussing more than 60 different healthcare vendors.

Dose monitoring

49% of decision-makers are expecting to acquire radiation dose monitoring in the next year, more than any other product category mentioned.

System options

A single source option for enterprise imaging is far less popular than buying individual best-of-breed systems.

Purchase consideration

Speech recognition, radiation dose monitoring, and image sharing vendors are getting considerably more consideration than others.

Hospital size

Some of the vendors are appealing to a different size of hospital prospect than they traditionally serve.
